Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Funding is the funding rate, periodic payments between traders of perpetual futures. On crypto exchanges funding is usually paid every 8 hours, but on active coins the frequency can be reduced to 4 or even 1 hour. These payments keep the futures price aligned with the spot market price. You can read about the funding mechanism in this article on our site.

The screener collects funding rate data from the following crypto exchanges: Binance, Bybit, OKX, Bitget, BingX, Gate.io, CoinEx, HTX (Huobi), WhiteBit, BitMEX, LBank, Toobit, Hyperliquid, WOO X, Aster.

  1. Sort coins by funding rate (click the "Funding" column header);
  2. Pay attention to the ⏱ timer next to the rate — it shows how long until the next funding accrual, but it is worth checking on the exchange website itself by clicking the "Chart" button;
  3. Find coins with the highest positive or negative funding;
  4. Open the coin chart on the exchange (the "Chart" button in the table);
  5. Check the trading volumes and liquidity of the selected pair;
  6. Decide to open a position taking into account the funding rate and its accrual time.

The "Upcoming fundings" tab shows all pairs on all exchanges sorted by time until the next funding accrual — from the nearest to the most distant. This is convenient to see in advance which positions funding will soon affect, and to have time to decide: close the position, wait out the payment, or, on the contrary, enter a trade before accrual. For equal times, pairs with the largest absolute rate are shown at the top. The columns show the coin, exchange, rate size, ⏱ countdown timer and a button to go to the chart.

Funding arbitrage is a strategy in which a trader opens opposite positions on different exchanges with different funding rates (hedge position). This is the so-called delta-neutral strategy. The "Arbitrage pairs" tab in our screener automatically shows arbitrage pairs with the largest percentage difference between rates.

The data is updated automatically every 5 minutes without reloading the page. A ⏱ countdown timer to the next funding accrual is displayed next to each rate. Please note: some exchanges may transmit funding data with a slight delay, so the percentage values on the charts may differ slightly from those shown in the table.

The bubble chart at the top of the page visualizes the highest and lowest funding rates across exchanges. It shows the top-20 positive rates (green bubbles) and top-20 negative rates (red bubbles). The bubble size corresponds to the absolute value of the rate. Each bubble shows the exchange, coin name and rate value. Clicking a bubble opens the coin chart on the corresponding exchange.
