Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
- Listing — adding a new cryptocurrency or trading pair to an exchange.
- Delisting — removing an asset from trading. Exchanges publish official announcements about such events, which we collect on this page.
Currently we track listing and delisting announcements on the following exchanges: Binance, Bybit, OKX, MEXC, Gate.com and BingX. You can filter the data by a specific exchange using the menu at the top of the page.
You can do this by clicking on the message title. The exchange website will open with the announcement you are interested in, the text of which usually specifies the exact time or other approximate timing of the event.
New listings are often accompanied by increased volatility and can provide trading opportunities. Delistings are important to track in order to close positions in time and avoid forced closure at an unfavorable rate.

Bybit has not published this information on its official website, but by default the criteria of major exchanges are approximately as follows:
- Project basis and team
- Quality and relevance of the project idea
- Team transparency and reputation
- Development activity and code updates
- Token and project economics
- Token distribution among participants
- Token issuance and circulation mechanisms
- Trading volume and liquidity on other platforms
- Technical risks
- Blockchain and smart-contract security
- History of technical failures and vulnerabilities
- Rule compliance
- Compliance with the requirements of regulators in different countries
- No signs of manipulation or fraud
Bybit may remove a token for several reasons:
- Project problems
- The team stopped working on the project or ceased communication
- Serious violations in information disclosure or user deception were found
- The project does not meet security requirements
- Trading problems
- Too low liquidity — normal buying and selling is impossible
- Extreme price fluctuations that create risk for users
- For the futures market: price falling below a certain level (20 minimum price steps)
- Technical events
- Blockchain split (hard fork) with issuance of new tokens
- Serious technical failures or vulnerabilities
- Legal and reputational risks
- Major litigation with the project team
- Significant negative news about the project
The token removal process on Bybit takes place in several stages:
- Notification
- For the futures market: if the price falls to a critical level, Bybit sends a notification by email and in the mobile app
- For the spot market: Bybit announces the removal in advance so that users have time to sell or withdraw their tokens
- What happens to positions
- Trading of the token is stopped
- Deposits and withdrawals of the token are discontinued
- For the futures market: all open positions are automatically closed at the average price for the 30 minutes before removal
- What happens to remaining tokens
- If the user still has tokens after all procedures are completed and there is liquidity in the market, Bybit sells them at the market price and transfers the funds to USDT (the process can take up to 6 months)
- If there is no liquidity — the token value is reset to zero
- If the payout amount is less than 0.01 USDT — no payout is made
Official information can be found in the following sources:
- Token management and removal rules — general rules for information disclosure and interaction with projects
- Token listing application form — if you are a project representative and want to list a token on Bybit
For spot
Buffer period for withdrawal
After the delisting announcement, Bybit gives you time to withdraw tokens to another wallet or exchange. While this period has not ended, you can freely manage your tokens.
If you did not have time to withdraw the tokens
After the buffer period ends, Bybit automatically sells your tokens at the market price and transfers the funds to USDT on your trading account.
Important conditions:
- The process takes up to 6 months — it is not instant, you need to wait
- If there are buyers in the market — your tokens will be sold at the current price, and you will receive USDT (minus the fee)
- If there are no buyers — the tokens are reset to zero, and you receive nothing
- If the amount is less than 0.01 USDT — no payout is made
Tip: it is better to withdraw or sell the tokens yourself before the end of the buffer period to avoid losses due to price fluctuations.
For futures
Automatic position closing
If you have open positions on tokens that are being removed from trading:
- All your open positions will be closed automatically
- All active and conditional orders will be cancelled
- Settlement will occur at the average price for the last 30 minutes before delisting
- A trading fee is charged for this
Important: Bybit may conduct a quick delisting without prior notice if extreme fluctuations arise in the market that create serious risks.
